Dr.Lazo was an American Born Cuban Lawyer, who lived many years In the United States and many In Cuba. He was part of Lazo & Cubas law firm In Cuba. Lazo writes from first hand observation that JFK betrayed the Cubans at the Bay of Pigs. The book makes no apologies for its stance, arguing that the U.S. response to everything in Latin America had Been “leftism” and how that inadvertently led from a corrupt yet pro-America and pro-business, as well as pro freedom-of-speech caudillo like Batista to a mass murderer and communist Like Fidel. The warning signs were there, but as usual, Lazo says, the State Department, the JFK Adminstration, and The New York Times, as well as Herbert Matthews and other leftists help propel an evil man, and with him, all of Cuba to where it is today.
Expatriots from Cuba won’t ever be able to look objectively at what everyone admits was the disaster of the Bay of Pigs. If it went wrong, it must have been leftist, and a plot to impose some hidden agenda. JFK did indeed cancel air support, and the whole affair was bungled from the outset. The charge of leftism is silly.
